Cast a KP horary chart from a number

Set the moment and place

Go to Modes → Prashna and open KP Prashna. The chart is cast for the moment the page opened, at the last place you used or the place of the chart in the header.

Search a city under Place to change it. Date and Time set the moment of judgment; the Step arrows move it by a minute, hour, day, week, month or year, and Now returns to the present.

Enter the horary number

Ask the querent for a number from 1 to 249 while they think of the question, and type it in Horary number. The box beside it shows the Ascendant the number gives, with its star and sub lords, and the chart is cast as soon as you stop typing.

The 249 numbers are the Vimshottari subs of the 27 nakshatras, split where a sub crosses a sign. The number is never saved: ask afresh for every question.

Ayanamsa offers KP (Krishnamurti), KP New and Lahiri, and Node offers Mean (the KP standard) or True. Both are remembered.

Read the horary chart

The Ascendant is the degree where the number's part begins. The other eleven cusps are Placidus cusps for your place at the sidereal time when that degree rises there, and the planets are where they really are at the moment of judgment.

Choose South, North, East or Circular above the chart. The marks under it are the KP ones: * no planets in its stars, + in its own star, # in its own sub, [e] empty cusp and [B] Badhaka house.

Check the horary details

Horary details lists the number, the horary Ascendant and its sign, star, sub and sub-sub lords, the number's part of the zodiac, the sidereal time the cusps are cast from, the moment and the ayanamsa.

Lagna rising now is the sign actually rising at the moment. It is there for reference only: the number sets the Ascendant. Vimshottari dasha below runs from the Moon at the question, opened on the periods running then.

Judge it with the ruling planets

The tabs on the right read the chart the KP way: Planets and Cusps, Significators, Ruling Planets, Effective Sig., 4-Step and Aspects.

Ruling Planets gives the day lord, the Moon's sign, star and sub lords, and the sign, star and sub lords of the horary Ascendant, with the fruitful significators of each house below. In KP horary the sub lord of the cusp that governs the matter decides whether it is promised.
