Progressions, solar arc and returns, including the Saturn return

Progress the chart

Go to Western → Progressions & Returns. The tabs are Secondary progressions, Solar arc, Solar return, Lunar return, Saturn return and Planet return.

Secondary progressions counts a day after birth as a year of life. Choose the date in Progressed to. It opens on today, or a year after birth for a chart dated today or later, which has nothing to progress yet. The bi-wheel has the birth chart inside and the progressed planets outside, and the tiles give the progressed Sun, Moon, Ascendant and MC; the angles move by the Naibod rate. Progressed-to-natal aspects are listed below.

Direct it by solar arc

Solar arc moves every point of the birth chart forward by the distance the progressed Sun has travelled, about 1° a year. Choose the date in Directed to. Directed positions gives each point's natal and directed longitude, and the aspects to the natal chart are read to a 1° orb.

Cast a solar or lunar return

Solar return finds the moment the Sun comes back to its birth degree in the Year you choose. Lunar return finds the first Moon return in the Month and Year you choose.

Cast for (relocate to where you will be) sets the place, which decides the return's houses and angles; Birthplace puts it back. The tiles give the return Ascendant and MC, the natal house the return Ascendant falls in and the longitude shift, and the table adds each planet's natal house.

List the Saturn returns

Saturn return lists the first, second and third returns of Saturn to its birth degree, at about ages 29½, 59 and 88. Because Saturn turns retrograde each year, one return can cross the degree up to three times: every pass is listed with its date, whether Saturn was direct or retrograde, and your age.

Find any planet's return

Planet return finds the returns of any planet from the Sun to Pluto, or Black Moon Lilith. Choose the Planet, the date in Returns after, and in How many the number of returns to list, up to 12. Mercury to Pluto can cross their birth degree more than once on one return, and each pass is listed.
