Weigh dignities, sect and profections in the Traditional view

Score the essential dignities

Essential dignities covers the seven traditional planets. Each column names the planet holding that dignity at the planet's degree: Domicile (+5), Exaltation (+4), Triplicity (+3), Term (+2) and Face (+1), then the debilities Detriment (−5) and Fall (−4). A cell is highlighted when the planet holds it itself.

Score adds them up, following William Lilly. A planet with no dignity, and in neither detriment nor fall, is Peregrine (−5).

Find the sect

Sect says whether it is a day or a night chart, from the Sun's altitude at birth, and names the light, the benefic and the malefic of the sect and the out-of-sect malefic.

The table gives each planet's sect, whether it is in sect, whether it was above or below the horizon, and whether it is in hayz, its best condition of sect.

Read the Part of Fortune

Part of Fortune uses the day or night formula to match the sect, and prints the working below the tiles. It gives the Part's position, its house in your house system and by whole sign, the ruler of its sign and its almuten.

Find the almuten and the Lord of the Year

Almuten gives each planet's dignity points at the Sun, Moon, Ascendant, Midheaven and Part of Fortune, their Total, and the almuten figuris, the strongest ruler of the whole chart.

Profections moves the Ascendant one sign for each year of life. Choose the date in Profected to (today to start) to see the Lord of the Year, of the Month and of the Day, with the house and sign reached, where each lord sits at birth and when each period runs.
