Find the fixed stars on a chart

Choose the stars and the orb

Go to Western → Fixed Stars. Star positions are tropical, and the planets and angles they are compared with are tropical too.

Choose the set: Major (about forty stars astrologers use most), Behenian (the fifteen stars of medieval astrology) or Brightest (magnitude 1.5 or brighter). The orb menu offers 0.5°, 1° (the usual limit), 1.5° and 2°.

Read the stars on the chart

Stars on the chart lists every star within the orb of a planet or angle, by longitude, with the star's own position, the orb, its magnitude (lower is brighter) and its nature. Point at the i beside a star's name for its traditional meaning, and click Point, Star, Orb or Magnitude to sort.

Check the parans

Parans at the birth latitude lists a star and a planet on angles at the same time on the birth day, within 1° of the birthplace's latitude, using the Behenian or the Brightest stars. It can link a star to a planet far from it in the zodiac.

Star positions gives where every star of the chosen set was on the birth date.
